About us
regenagri is an international regenerative agriculture program for securing the health of the land and the wealth of those who live on it.
It supports farms and organisations transitioning to holistic farming, increasing soil health, encouraging biodiversity, reducing green house gas emissions and sequestering CO2. regenagri also provides farmers with routes to additional funds through carbon credit markets and environmental subsidies.
In supporting regenerative farming, we aid in the regeneration of our planet and sustainably secure the future of agricultural products and their supply chains.
Governance Structure
Regenagri is registered in the U.K. as a Community Interest Company (C.i.C.). Regenagri opted for the C.i.C. status because it provides a unique legal structure that is specifically designed to benefit the community or pursue social objectives rather than maximising profits for shareholders. By statutes, Regenagri C.i.C. is required to engage with the local community and provide transparent reporting on its impact. This ensures that Regenagri C.i.C. remains accountable to its stakeholders, including beneficiaries, funders, and the wider community.
Regenagri C.i.C. has a three-tiered structure:
- Board of Directors: Regenagri C.i.C.’s Board of Directors is responsible for establishing and guiding the organisation’s long-term strategic vision, priorities, and policies. They also oversee the financial aspects of the organisation. The Board of Directors are aimed to represent a diverse group of professionals from the global North and South.
- Steering Advisory Group: The steering advisory group is responsible for supporting the technical development of regenagri. It comprises experts from various fields of regenerative agriculture, including GHG measurements, biodiversity, and transition financing. Their role is to offer external expertise and a thorough review of our work to ensure that the regenagri standard criteria, methodologies, and data platform are strong and reliable. All organisations sharing the same values and mission of regenagri are welcome to express their interest in this engagement. For more information visit here.
- Secretariat: The Secretariat is headed by the CEO of Regenagri C.i.C. The primary role of the Secretariat is to facilitate and oversee the implementation of Regenagri C.i.C.’s strategies, programs, and standards. This involves working closely with stakeholders across different agricultural supply chains, including farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and civil society organisations. The Secretariat is responsible for developing and continuously improving the regenagri standard, criteria, and guidelines. We work collaboratively with experts, stakeholders, and partners to ensure the standards reflect best practices and address key sustainability challenges in regenerative agriculture.
