Global cotton producer becomes first agribusiness to achieve regenagri certification

Control Union is pleased to announce that global cotton producer, the Amiha Agro Group, based in Ahmedabad, western India, is the first agribusiness to be certified under the regenagri programme.

1,000 farms that operate under the Amiha Agro have been successfully assessed by Control Union against regenerative agriculture criteria and joined the regenagri continuous improvement programme in December 2020.

Founding director, Amitabh Singh says Amiha Agro is committed to infuse quality and excellence in the supply chain through the implementation of regenerative principles.

“To cater for the growing requirements of our eco-conscious consumers, we’ve created a platform for transparency and responsibility in our trading produce,” explains Mr Singh.

“Our concept of ‘soil to sale’ closely aligns with the objectives behind the regenagri initiative. This is one of the many reasons why we’re so proud to have achieved regenagri certified status.”

Commenting on the newly acquired certification, Franco Costantini, managing director at Control Union UK, says:

It’s exciting to see companies like Amiha Agro taking steps towards more regenerative systems. As other organisations join this program, we look forward to seeing the regenagri logo move through the supply chain in the future.
