Governance Structure
Regenagri is registered in the U.K. as a Community Interest Company (C.i.C.). Regenagri opted for the C.i.C. status because it provides a unique legal structure that is specifically designed to benefit the community or pursue social objectives rather than maximising profits for shareholders. By statutes, Regenagri C.i.C. is required to engage with the local community and provide transparent reporting on its impact. This ensures that Regenagri C.i.C. remains accountable to its stakeholders, including beneficiaries, funders, and the wider community.
Regenagri C.i.C. has a two-tiered structure:
- Board of Directors: Regenagri C.i.C.’s Board of Directors is responsible for establishing and guiding the organisation’s long-term strategic vision, priorities, and policies. They also oversee the financial aspects of the organisation. The Board of Directors are aimed to represent a diverse group of professionals from the global North and South.
- Secretariat: The Secretariat is headed by the CEO of Regenagri C.i.C. The primary role of the Secretariat is to facilitate and oversee the implementation of Regenagri C.i.C.’s strategies, programs, and standards. This involves working closely with stakeholders across different agricultural supply chains, including farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and civil society organisations. The Secretariat is responsible for developing and continuously improving the regenagri standard, criteria, and guidelines. We work collaboratively with experts, stakeholders, and partners to ensure the standards reflect best practices and address key sustainability challenges in regenerative agriculture
