regenagri year end letter 2021.
Dear all,
2021 has been a big year for both regenerative agriculture and regenagri! We are delighted to see
awareness and adoption of regenerative practices grow globally. regenagri has had a fantastic year
with significant developments to the initiative, as well as growth in our client base and area of land
within this scheme.
This year saw the launch of our carbon verification capability, with a new carbon standard, and the
integration of the cool farm tool calculator into our digital hub. We hit a key milestone in October with
100,000 hectares of regenerative agricultural land under the initiative. This land comes from over
16,000 farms in locations ranging across South America, Asia and Europe. Then November saw another
important milestone with the launch of the regenagri’s chain of custody standard, and the certification
of the first supply chain – Candiani Denim.
The core focus of regenagri is to secure the health of the land and the wealth of those who live on it,
by supporting the adoption of regenerative agriculture.
It is a complete solution with a platform for data analysis, outcome-driven certifications and
generation of carbon credits.
regenagri adopts a continuous improvement model to assure that regeneration happens, and at scale.
It supports those at the start of their transitions as well as motivates those who have been actively
regenerating their land for some time to continue their good work.
By end of 2022 we are aiming to get 1m hectares of land under the initiative. In addition, we are soon
to verify the first projects against our carbon standard leading to the generation of the first regenagri
carbon credits. We will benchmark regenagri to reduce duplication of efforts for those already
certified against schemes such as Global GAP, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, and other relevant
certifications.
To continue strengthening the initiative, we will be transitioning its administration to a new,
multistakeholder organisation. We will also be strengthening the governance by adding new
organisations to our advisory committee. And of course, we are soon to release of the regenagri chain
of custody standard for food and feed supply chains.
If you would like to speak to any of the team please contact us on info@regenagri.org
We would like to thank all the clients and partners who have worked with us to make 2021 such an
exciting year for regenagri. We look forward to continuing our work together in 2022 and beyond.
Wishing you a happy holiday and a prosperous 2022, from the regenagri team!
