Regenagri launches Carbon Insetting Platform
Regenerative agriculture standard Regenagri has launched its new Carbon Insetting Platform, allowing companies to easily acquire carbon insetting units generated by farms within their own supply chains.
The platform is a fundamental element of Regenagri’s pioneering Carbon Insetting Programme which launched at the beginning of 2025. It gives all participating farms and companies access to a personalised dashboard of programme-related data, including details of their own carbon unit transactions. All participating companies are listed, facilitating connections between carbon unit generating producers, manufacturers, retailers and brands.
How it works
The Carbon Insetting Programme offers participating farms the chance to earn carbon insetting units in return for implementing regenerative practices.
On the new platform, farms and farming organisations can track data related to the commodities they have verified, including the carbon units generated – overall and per commodity – and make these available for purchase. This provides an additional financial incentive for improving soil health, while making farms more resilient to climate change.
Supply chain operators and brands can use the platform to connect to relevant producers and directly purchase carbon units within their own supply chains. This helps them to reduce their GHG Scope 3 emissions and progress toward net zero targets.

To date, the Regenagri Carbon Insetting Programme covers 828,110 acres of land across 8 countries across 5 continents, involving 26 crops including cotton, coffee, soyabean and wheat.
Compliant and secure
The platform has been carefully developed in compliance with the Regenagri Insetting Standard and procedures. This means that all eligibility, due diligence and risk mitigation mechanisms are in place to ensure compliant and secure carbon unit transactions.
Forging the way in Regenagri carbon insetting unit generation
Olam Agri
Regenagri partner Olam Agri is a market-leading agri-business in food, feed and fibre and the first company in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to be issued with Regenagri carbon insetting units.
Mahesh Ramakrishnan, Vice President, Cotton Sustainability for Olam Agri in West Africa said: “We are delighted to join Regenagri’s Carbon Insetting Programme, reaffirming our commitment to producing low-carbon cotton through regenerative practices that enhance soil health and climate resilience. Unlike offsetting, carbon insetting channels investment directly into our supply chain, empowering farmers to adopt climate-smart practices that capture carbon, restore biodiversity, and strengthen livelihoods. It also provides retailers and brands with traceable, audit-ready data they can use to cut Scope 3 emissions and advance their sustainability goals.”
Artistic Milliners
Another Regenagri partner leading the way is Artistic Milliners. As a global leader in the manufacture of sustainable denim Artistic Milliners generated the first Regenagri carbon insetting units in Asia.
Omer Ahmed, CEO of Artistic Milliners said: “By investing in regenerative agriculture within our own supply chain, we are not just offsetting our carbon footprint; we are actively creating a more resilient and sustainable ecosystem. This allows our brand partners to invest back into the source of their products and make a tangible impact on their Scope 3 emissions.”
Franco Costantini, Regenagri CEO, said: “This is a pivotal moment for Regenagri’s Carbon Insetting Programme. We’re delighted to now be able to offer our partners a way to easily find farming and brand partners, and to confidently acquire carbon units. We’ve worked hard to develop a secure, compliant, and easy-to-use tool for our partners to improve the sustainability of their supply chains, support farmer livelihoods, and reduce the carbon footprint of their products. We’re looking forward to seeing its use grow.”
The updated Regenagri Insetting Standard
Together with the platform launch, Regenagri is introducing the updated Regenagri Insetting Standard. This standard sets requirements for risk assessment, integrity, quantification and transaction of carbon insetting units.
Among other important improvements, two major additions to this standard are:
- the inclusion of ‘Farms Benefit sharing’ rules
- an innovative performance-based and regenerative-tailored approach to test additionality (called Innovative Regenerative Practice).
By introducing the ‘Farms Benefit sharing’, we aim to ensure a minimum percentage of the income from the sale of insetting units is transferred to the farms.
The Innovative Regenerative Practice (IRP) principles replace traditional financial and barrier-based additionality tests with a performance-based approach tailored to regenerative agriculture. It combines quantitative assessment and expert validation to confirm that project activities go beyond business-as-usual conditions.
How to get involved
All companies with a Regenagri licence contract can register to the Regenagri Carbon Insetting Programme and gain access to the platform.
