Il nostro nuovo Carbon Standard è stato lanciato!
We are proud to announce the launch of our Carbon Standard, tailor made for the agricultural sector. The Standard will enable farms and their supply chains to benefit from funding via the Carbon Credit market. As a holistic regenerative agriculture initiative offering implementation support, regenerative certification, and a digital hub for monitoring of on farm data, this new Standard completes our range of services.
Farmers wishing to engage in regenerative transition can access verifications of the GHG emissions and Carbon sequestration achieved by their regenerative practices. The assessments are done under ISO 14065 accreditation, allowing users to generate the Carbon Credits. In this way, farms can gain access to an additional source of funding, by selling the Credits on the green finance market or using them in insetting projects along their supply chain. Equally, organisations in the agricultural supply chain who are working to address their scope 3 emissions can also benefit by purchasing the Credits to fund the transition of their own supply chain.
Importantly, the regenagri approach allows for retrospective validation for up to 5 years in cases where the project began prior to involvement with the regenagri Carbon Standard but can still proof its additionality.
Our team will use this new Standard to support farms in the project design stage, through implementation of the project. The validation and verification of registered projects is done by certification body Control Union.
Franco Costantini, MD of Control Union UK comments:
“We are delighted to see the launch of this new regenagri Carbon Standard. Key to its success is its robust approach to additionality – ensuring the project could not be done without the revenue from the Carbon credit – and how it deals with permanence – specifying that greenhouse gasses are removed from the atmosphere for at least 100 years – measurability and independent verification.”
Filippo Guerrini di regenagri commenta:
“Carbon Credit programs can be extremely complex, so we have worked hard to build a practical standard whilst maintaining robustness. For example, we have simplified the methodology to allow for a more rapid process and tailored it for the use by farmers in grouped projects. To bridge the gap between investments done and return coming from carbon credits, project developers can, under specified conditions, apply to receive a proportion of the Credits after project validation to provide earlier access to funds and to be able to scale up the regenerative transition.
“With the publication of the regenagri Carbon Standard, we are providing farmers and agricultural groups with a route to the financial means to transition as fast as possible to agricultural systems that can help mitigate, and adapt to, the climate crisis while also regenerating our agro-environment.”
The new Standard, along with the regenagri Project Design Document template are now available here.
