International Cooperative Alliance joins the Regenagri board
This month the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) became a shareholder in Regenagri C.i.C, joining its board of directors along with Solidaridad Asia.
Representing cooperatives worldwide, the ICA provides a global voice, knowledge forum, expertise and coordinated action for and about cooperatives. With an estimated one billion cooperative members, ICA brings a huge network of people, many of whom are active in the agricultural sector, and the potential to expand the Regenagri programme even further.
Like Regenagri and Solidaridad, ICA works across multiple agricultural sectors and commodities to support growers to improve their communities’ livelihoods and environmental impact.
ICA’s partnership with Regenagri will reinforce the ICA 2030 Strategy by supporting agricultural cooperatives to adopt regenerative practices that enhance climate resilience, biodiversity and soil health. Access to Regenagri’s standards, certification tools, digital platform and carbon insetting programme will provide cooperatives with new opportunities to improve their income and sustainability leadership.
ICA Director General Jeroen Douglas says: “Our collaboration with Regenagri strengthens ICA’s role as a driver of green transformation while showcasing the cooperative model as a powerful force for environmental and social impact. We’re looking forward to sharing more about this partnership as part of the ICA 2030 Strategy that we will present at our General Assembly in Manchester, UK, on 2 July”.
Regenagri CEO Franco Costantini says: “We’re delighted that ICA has joined Regenagri as a shareholder. Together with Solidaridad, our three organisations encompass a vast breadth of knowledge and expertise, along with an extensive network that promises to bring additional momentum to the regenerative farming movement. Together we can provide rigorous standards and trustworthy certification to a growing group of farmers and their supply chains, ensuring a fair and impactful transition to regenerative practices around the world”.
