With over five decades of experience in India working on species and habitat conservation, freshwater management, climate change, sustainable agriculture, and environmental education, WWF-India is one of the country’s leading conservation organisations.
WWF-India’s extensive expertise greatly complements Regenagri’s focus on regenerative agriculture, while contributing additional scientific insight and on-the-ground experience to the board. By joining the board, WWF-India further strengthens its commitment to advancing biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods for smallholder farmers.
WWF-India has previously worked with Regenagri alongside Solidaridad Asia to develop the Regenagri Fast Track Cotton Initiative. Launched in late 2025, the programme aims to bring regenerative farming to over one million hectares of cotton farming land across India.
Dr. Sejal Worah, Programme Director at WWF-India says: “Joining the Regenagri Board marks an important step in advancing WWF-India’s commitment to making smallholder agriculture more resilient and nature-friendly by scaling a market-driven approach and expanding the adoption of Regenagri among smallholder farmers.”
Dr. Shatadru Chattopadhayay, Managing Director at Solidaridad Asia says: “As Chair of the Board of Directors of Regenagri, I warmly welcome WWF-India to the Regenagri Board. Their joining is a significant step in strengthening our collective ambition to advance regenerative agriculture in ways that benefit both people and planet. It brings together shared conviction and complementary expertise around restoring soils, protecting wildlife, improving livelihoods, and building farming systems that are both productive and resilient. We look forward to working closely with WWF-India to help shape a regenerative economy that safeguards biodiversity, empowers farmers and sets a strong example for sustainable commodity systems globally.”
Regenagri CEO Franco Costantini says: “We’re thrilled that WWF-India has joined Regenagri as a board member. Together with existing board members Solidaridad Asia and ICA, our four organisations combine a wealth of knowledge and expertise in terms of regenerative agriculture, improving farm resilience, restoring biodiversity, supporting farming communities, and driving impact as a global network. Together we can bring additional and vital momentum to the regenerative farming movement.”
