Global regenerative agriculture programme, regenagri\u00ae is launching several new standards to both enhance the sustainability and traceability of food and textiles produced regeneratively and add quantifiable criteria behind regenerative claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the updated standards will be officially launched by 6 June 2025<\/strong>, regenagri will be running two online meetings on 4 June<\/strong> to provide a detailed overview of all updates, with an opportunity to ask questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Franco Constantini, regenagri CEO, the organisation has seen significant growth in recent years, with its programmes covering extensive farmland areas globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe new standards reflect this growth and our commitment to continuous improvement, addressing the evolving needs of the agricultural industry,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019ll provide a more comprehensive framework for assessing and verifying the positive impacts of regenerative agriculture, ensuring greater traceability and environmental stewardship across global supply chains.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The updated standards include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

regenagriCS update<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The regenagri Content Standard (CS) standard offers a robust framework for chain of custody requirements across food, feed, and textile materials, setting requirements for the content of regeneratively grown products from farm to final product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main changes to this standard include restructuring and clarification on certain requirements such as transaction certificates and remote audits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The long-term goal of this voluntary standard is to increase regenerative production and therefore provide environmental benefits, such as reduced carbon footprint, enhanced biodiversity and improved soil health. This will give an assured route to market for regenerative produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

regenagri CoC Food and Textile standards update<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

These two Chain of Custody (CoC) standards apply to food products and textile products respectively. They both emphasise the importance of traceability and segregation from primary processing to end products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both standards have been updated to include certification process changes and timelines, requirements for multisite and group certification, audit requirements for certification bodies and updates on existing requirements, such as due diligence, supplier approval and transaction certificates.
regenagri Claims Requirements update<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These requirements provide guidelines on making marketing, product and impact claims related to regenagri-certified farms and products. They have been updated with more clarifications for each type of claim and now include message templates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The responsibilities of organisations and certification bodies in monitoring and controlling these claims are also outlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

regenagri technical guidance for food and textiles<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

These two new documents provide guidance on implementation of CoC requirements across food, feed, and textile material. It is to be used in conjunction with the CS and product-specific CoC standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
