regenagri released two significant updates to its regenerative agriculture standard on 8 January 2024, to include elevated contextualised assessment and labour criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aiming to secure the health of the land and the wealth of those who live on it, regenagri<\/a> has tripled in growth over the last year and now more than one million hectares of land world-wide is under the regenagri programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With continuous improvement being a core programme objective, Version 3.1 of the evolving regenagri standard<\/a> takes into account four years of learnings from working with various stakeholders and regenerative projects across global agri-food and textiles supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contextualised assessment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The regenagri standard<\/a>, which contains more than 30 criteria to measure environmental impact from implementing regenerative practices, now has a more diverse assessment capability tailored to localised farm conditions but on a global scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contextualisation is based on conditions including geographical climates, varying soil types and types of farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This structured approach provides a more comprehensive and fairer evaluation of unique farmland, with distinct characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The regenagri standard<\/a> also now includes labour criteria to ensure farms continue to grow responsibly on their regenerative journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes ensuring farms adhere to requirements on important aspects, including child labour and young workers, freedom of association, freely chosen employment, wages and benefits, and health and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
